Atlanta Georgia

Our city features an emerging downtown, southern hospitality and some of the best convention and meeting facilities in the nation. Read these client testimonials to discover why meeting planners continue to place Atlanta at the top of their list.

"We loved Atlanta, certainly one of the friendliest cities to hold a convention in. All of the hotel and Georgia World Congress Center staff was fabulous. The bureau staff was some of the best I have ever worked with. Everyone went out of their way to ensure the success of our meeting. The logistics were so much easier in Atlanta as compared to some other big convention cities and the overall cost much lower then most. It's really easy to get around, especially with the subway system and the flat taxi cab rate in downtown. With the new aquarium and downtown shopping and restaurants opening, there will be even more to do in downtown Atlanta. I highly recommend holding your next convention in Atlanta."

"The meeting was very successful and everything really went well. People came away enthralled with Atlanta. I heard more comments from people... that were just fascinated with the Atlanta History Center. One lady from Boston said she wanted to come back to Atlanta just to see the History Center again, and Bulloch Hall, of course Atlanta itself, the beauty of it, the trees, and everything... People really liked Atlanta. So, we had a great meeting and the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau helped us quite a bit and I'm very appreciative. I don't know if the TRA can have a meeting here in Atlanta for another few years, but when it does, we'll have another great time for them. Thanks a lot for everything!"

"Well as they say in Atlanta, 'What happens in Atlanta you will want to tell the world,' because IWF 2006 and Atlanta are what everyone is talking about. The early results are in and it sure sounds like we all did what we set out to do which is showcase the best woodworking event in the best city at the best venue. It takes a lot of different faces and personalities to take this event from a blank map in a concrete building to a beautiful showcase of exhibits and entertainment, providing buyers and sellers infinite possibilities for business success and new opportunities for long term partnerships for the attendee and the exhibitor. You can tell from walking the aisles and seeing and hearing what people were doing from a business standpoint and fun standpoint that the buyer and sellers both got a great ROI and a great Return on Fun in Atlanta. You all have established a standard that will be tough for anyone to replicate. There's no reason to look over your shoulder to take a glimpse at the competition because they are too far to see."

The Big South Qualifier was held just days after a tornado hit downtown Atlanta, including the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC). In lieu of hosting the event at the GWCC, the competition was played at venues throughout the city. The event's meeting planner, Lauri Dagostino, commented in this letter:

"Randy and I wanted to thank you for the partnership we have had over the years. It was never more apparent than in the light of this year's crisis. Everyone connected with the ACVB played an integral part in helping us pull off moving Big South from the GWCC to seven other sites in 72 hours. Our heartfelt thanks are extended to Mark Vaughan, Mark Sussman, Bob Schuler and of course, [ACVB president Spurgeon Richardson], as well as countless others working behind the scenes at the ACVB. . . We cannot emphasize enough how much the success of moving Big South was due to the tireless, relentless work of Jeremy Rubin and Kristin Delahunt. . . They inspired us to keep going when it all seemed for naught and, ultimately, scored a huge victory for Atlanta's 'can-do' portfolio."

"...From the first site visit, to follow-up planning and meeting implementation the Atlanta CVB team provided outstanding customer service, demonstrated a high level of professionalism and helped the Girl Scouts every step of the way. Our convention was truly a success and without the support of the Atlanta CVB we would not have surpassed our goals or exceeded expectations!"

Deb Long
Senior VP Governance and Corporate Administration
Girl Scouts of the USA

"The support we received from our partners at the CVB, Georgia World Congress Center, Georgia Dome, MARTA, and the hotel community helped to make our 2005 youth conference our most successful to date. Everyone we worked with was professional and willing to help us accommodate even last minute changes."

"DECOR Expo thanks you and your wonderful city for being gracious hosts to our attendees and exhibitors.  I have never felt so welcome by so many people, from the airport personnel, cab drivers, restaurants, hoteliers and convention center employees. I wish other cities that I do business with would follow your example. I can feel the love!"
